Blog rebirth

Sorry for the long and unexpected hiatus. It's been a rough year--first year teaching is like that. I'm teaching online now with a charter school, which as you can imagine is not incredibly lucrative (that's sarcasm for "I'm poor," by the way). In my absence, I've seen an unusually high, but consistent level of traffic to this blog considering that I haven't been updating it. That makes it clear to me that this is a needed resource and that it would be useful to others if I were to return to updating it.

Because of that, I'm committing to posting at least one page per week of study guide material this year. You will start to see updates on a regular basis, with posts going live Monday mornings starting in January 2014.

I'm committed to keeping this blog up as a free resource for those who need it, but I have student loans to pay off as well, so you may be seeing Google ads on this site soon. I will also be updating my links on the Resources page to become affiliate links. I would like all of this monetization to be as un-intrusive as possible, while making the content of the website as useful as possible. I welcome your feedback regarding my monetization of the blog, and the proposed posting schedule.

Books linked!

I've gotten all the books I've listed linked on the Resources page now. Yay! If you have any books you would like me to add, let me know and I'll get them up there. As yet, I haven't listed any textbooks. Probably should get on that. Will get the rest of the links inserted shortly.

Welcome!

Welcome! Feel free to take a look around. It's a bit spartan at the moment, but you'll notice content going up in bits and pieces as I study for the Science CSETs. Since I am, naturally, not taking all four of the subject-area tests, not all of the exams will be covered here. My intentions are taking the Subtest 3: Physics and Subtest 3: Earth Sciences tests in addition to the Foundational Sciences tests (Subtests 1 & 2). If you would like to contribute to a Subtest 3: Chemistry page, or a Subtest 3: Biology page, leave a comment and we can figure out how to make that happen. If you are going the Specialized route, I will duplicate some of the content from Subtests 1 & 2 to cover the Specialized Subtest 4 exams on their own pages, eventually.
