This test consists of the following subsections:
Biology/Life Science:
- Ecology (8 multiple choice; 0 constructed response)
- Genetics and Evolution (14 multiple choice; 0 constructed response)
- Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (7 multiple choice; 1 constructed response)
- Cell and Organismal Biology (7 multiple choice; 1 constructed response)
Chemistry:
- Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics (7 multiple choice; 0 constructed response)
- Structures and Properties of Matter (15 multiple choice; 0 constructed response)
Each of these bullet pointed subsections will eventually have a page of its own that will be linked from here.
A note about the question types:
Multiple Choice - This is exactly what it sounds like. You have a question, and four possible answers. You choose which one you think is right.
Constructed Response - In science, this is often a prompt that asks you to create a thoroughly labeled diagram or a description of a process (or both). Check out the practice tests on the CSET website if you want to more.
